On Thursday, November 5th at 6:00 PM, Father Jakub Sadílek OFM will visit the Literary Cafe and share with us who will tell us , about the life of Saint Francis on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of his passing. Father Jakub will use Massimo Fusarelli's new book, "Vita inquieta" (Saintly Restlessness), as a basis for his talk, but he will also discuss other biographies (The Wisdom of the Poor by E. Leclerc, Francis by G. Chesterton, The Little Poor Man by Kazantzakis, etc.) and films (Brother Sun Sister Moon, Francis and Clare, etc.) that depict Saint Francis. He will reflect on how biographies of Francis differ from other biographies and how he can be most authentically portrayed. He will talk about his contribution to both the past and present times.
