Music Between East and West

On Wednesday, June 18, a concert by the University Art Ensemble of Charles University was held at the Church of Christ the Savior. The music of Bulgarian composer D. Hristov, inspired by the liturgy of John Chrysostom, and French composer M. Duruflé, symbolically connected the Christian East and West in our church. D. Hristov was a student of Antonín Dvořák at the Prague Conservatory (1903). The compositions of Maurice Duruflé were performed by the young successful organist Lukáš Dvořák.

One of the motives for dedicating the Barrandov Church to Christ the Savior was precisely the connection with the eastern "lung" of Christianity. Join us in crossing the symbolic bridge between the West and the East built by music in our church.
